There’s a big, fat elephant in the room.

So let’s just get it out in the open and then we can move on.

COMMERCIAL RADIO SUCKS!

There, we've said it.

The music they play is safe, mediocre, and painfully repetitive.

The presenters talk too much. Way too much.

And, with mobile phones in our hands who needs the news, weather or travel reports?

And then there are the adverts! God, those frickin adverts!!

It’s just as well we don’t do any of that.

In fact, our favourite saying is NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS.

The thing is though, we LOVE radio.

We were raised on it.

It was like a religion to us.

It helped us gain a sense of who we were and what we stood for.

It helped us feel that we belonged, not just as an individual but as part of something else, something bigger than us - a city, a community, a tribe.

Just something.

So when several decades ago video killed the radio star, and then it was cast aside by the internet and music streaming, before being finally wrung dry by commercial mismanagement, it was the people that were the real losers.

And so, after years of talking about it, we set about building the radio station that we would want to listen to.

We didn't want to follow, we wanted to invent.

We didn't want to just build a local radio station.

We wanted to start a crusade.

We wanted to create a tribe of like-minded people that do great things together and care deeply for one another.......whilst listening to great music.

But, first and foremost, our radio station had to have heart.

We, the listener, needed to feel something again.

We needed to feel we belonged, we needed to feel good, we needed to feel alive.

We needed to feel like the best days of our lives were still in the future and not just in the past.

We needed to create new moments, new memories, new good times.

The chorus of a tune (Gettin Out by S.L.D) from the early 90s sums this up better than anything we could say, so we are unashamedly stealing it:

Getting ready for the best time in your life.

We wanted to create a station that didn't have listeners, it had ambassadors and evangelists.

So that's what we are doing.

We are also so confident about the music we play that we are happy to challenge you to our Three Song Trust Policy - it's a bit like the old Pepsi challenge only with music and not a sugary beverage - you can read all about it HERE.

We are so unbelievably grateful for your time and your support.

But this isn't just our journey, we want you to come on board.

Get in touch, find out how you can get involved and be a part of this.

Thank you.
